The province’s marine industry has the ability to significantly reduce traffic and border congestion on Ontario’s roads. A single laker can carry as much cargo as three 100-unit trains or 870 truckloads. The Province must work with the industry to develop a strategy aimed at increasing the use of marine transportation to reduce traffic and border congestion.
