OMTF is a collaboration of Ontario’s marine transportation community - ports, carriers, The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation and other key service providers. Our goal is to more effectively integrate marine transportation into Ontario’s transportation infrastructure.

Ontario's $2.2 billion marine transportation industry plays an important role in supporting economic growth and facilitating trade. Marine transportation is the safest, most efficient and environmentally friendly mode of transportation.

In Ontario, marine transportation can help ease traffic and border congestion on the province’s highways and border crossings and reduce air emissions and fuel consumption.

Ontario’s marine transportation sector can play an even greater role in building the province’s economic prosperity by improving trade and the movement of goods, vehicles and people.

The environmental impacts of transportation are also of great public and political concern and OMTF seeks to bring awareness to the kind of environmental benefits marine transportation can offer to Ontario.
